W Wayne McCarroll a week ago What an utterly unbelievable experience!!!!! The roads the traffic madness and then into the countryside with the views and yes those stupidly designed roads through caves and overhanging rocks not for kilometres but days and days. The team spirit and comradery between the riders and new friendships forged will last for ever. This is a life changing ride that helps you understand why we do what we do every day so on the odd occasion we can leave the reality of our normal lives and live the dreams we have had for years. The roads are challenging both physically and mentally and the scenery is just WOW WOW WOW. This is what the Hymala’s are about. They will take your breath away and you photos will not do the landscape justice. I am I absolute awe of the last three weeks and Roamimg Horizons have over delivered on all their sales pitch to deliver a once in a lifetime experience. But why only once in a lifetime???? I will be back Cheers to Catman Deepak and Vinny all legends and experience to deliver you the perfect life changing experience. Just do it and book now . This was an amazing experience and we were very well prepared and looked after by Roaming Horizons prior, during and after the motorbike tour. Our Australian tour leader, Kylie, was brilliant. Apart from ensuring that we were all safe and well, she also ensured our success with tips, encouragement and her huge social battery which always made us feel at home. Our local guide, Vinny, and the other support staff couldn’t do enough to safely get us around the route and look after us along the way with a smile. Thanks Roaming Horizons. Ladakh was once-in-a-lifetime experience !! Right from the detailed itinerary to the well-planned stops at various view points, to the Hotels, everything was smooth and comfortable. Jemma the Australian team leader is a bubbly enthusiastic person. I chose the Roaming Horizons trip to Umling La because I just wanted to ride the highest road in the world. The actual journey was epic. The scenery spectacular. The accommodation was good, you were able to see how the locals lived and the challenges they faced, like electricity rationed, on from 7pm to 11pm in some places. The motorcycle route was excellent with the Royal Enfield Himalayans very much up to the task. The mountain passes were obviously a highlight and the riding was awesome. Before starting the tour I had focused on the ride itself but over the journey the cultural aspects were a real highlight for me. Vinny, Jemma, Deepak, Mohin, Tarif and team were excellent guides on and off the bikes. The other Aussies on the tour felt like long time friends after our shared experiences. I highly encourage you not to wait and book with Roaming Horizons for a trip of a lifetime. G Greg Keith 5 months ago Just got back from Bhutan trip with Roaming Horizons and I'm still totally buzzing from the experience. I had great support pre trip from the team with all our arrangements, so I had everything I needed for the trip. The team were great in getting us to the start point and our bikes were perfect for climbing mountain passes and dealing with the occasional rough stuff in Bhutan. So much amazing mountain scenery and unique people and culture to experience. Our group was really well looked after with two support vehicles, great guides and personal/mechanical help when needed. Our group was a great bunch and we forged some deep bonds as we explored the local towns and had a few drinks and meals together. I would totally recommend Roaming Horizons, they have great in country knowledge and awesome team members which make for a once in a lifetime experience. M Mark Witchard 5 months ago My trip to a place far far away From the day I met up with Stephen from Roaming Horizons to discuss the tour I knew this was the trip for me. We set off & flew to Kathmandu to meet up with our team leader Kylie & the rest of the tour group. A couple of days later we flew to Pokhara to meet up with Vinnie & the rest of the Roaming Horizons team to start our adventure. We had a briefing as what to expect & then saddled up to meet the great unknown & venture to the Upper Mustang Valley. No amount of words can express or do justice to what we experienced with this professional outfit. Day after day of exhilarating mountain views, high roads with drop offs to rivers below, waterfalls, traversing narrow suspension bridges, snow capped mountains that reached the heavens. Just when you thought you had experienced all there was on offer you are mesmerised by more raw beauty. You get a real cultural experience meeting up with locals with temple visits etc along the way also which was fantastic. It is hard to pick one thing that is a stand out but for me it would have to be Manang, what a place of solace WOW. All in all the trip allowed me to full fill a dream with a group of like minded men & woman with a tour group 2nd to none. And most of all I got to do it on two wheels, the mighty Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Thank you for the memories team 🙏 PS see you on the next one 👌 L Lianni Locke 5 months ago Updating my previous review after our second tour with RH : This time My husband and I experienced Nepal, both of us riding Royal Enfield Himalayan 450's . Again these bikes are totally fit for purpose in the rough Himalayan environment. All the benefits of being on tour with RH were the same as last year's Ladakh high passes tour: Stress free, well organized, great team , great group of people touring together, accommodation exceeded expectations in this country as well . Attentive mechanics, safety was a huge priority and taken very seriously. We had a blast , loved the challenges and comradery along the way , not to mention the mountain scenery. Photos just dont do them justice, you have to experience them for yourself. So thank you again Roaming Horizons, for an unforgettable experience in Nepal. Previous review: My husband and I have just returned from Leh Ladakh after doing our first tour with Roaming Horizons, and it exceeded all our expectations by far ! From excellent initial communications and planning support, all the way through to our last day , nothing was too much trouble. Organization of accommodation, permits , admission costs etc all taken care of . It was stress free , so you could just enjoy riding through these unbelievable landscapes , take pics and be in awe of the majesty and fascinating history of this region. Any questions on the history or culture in this area were easily answered by the knowledgeable staff , therefore we learnt so much more than if we had gone it alone . Safety was high priority and well organized, with procedures in place if they were needed... Which thankfully they were not . The Himalayan 450's were the perfect bike for this trip , we both enjoyed riding them with no experience on this motorcycle before . Mechanics were very attentive, checking the bikes over every day , and on call if you needed them . We could not complain about a thing , it was a life changing experience. Our group was amazing, everyone mixed in all eager to get going each day , for our next adventure . Everyone was very supportive of each other , we all looked out for each other and no one was left out . Can't thank Guru , Catman, Kylie and all the people from Roaming Horizons enough. B Barry Hickman 5 months ago I’ve just rolled back from a two-week motorcycle odyssey through Bhutan with Roaming Horizons, and 'exceptional' doesn't even begin to cover it. The country is a masterclass in culture and breathtaking landscapes, but it was the people that truly made the trip. Riding with the legendary crew from Roaming Horizons as well as the fellow tour participants - three fellow Aussies, nine Poms, and a lone German - was the icing on the cake. Between the technical riding and the sheer beauty of the Kingdom, there was always time for a cold beer and a proper yarn. If you’re hunting for a 150% 'trust-worthy' adventure where the logistics are seamless and the memories are massive—Roaming Horizons is the only name you need to know G Glenn O'Grady 5 months ago I have recently returned from the Roaming Horizon’s trip to the Upper Mustang and Menang valleys in Nepal. Having travelled to Nepal previously, I wasn’t expecting a high quality of accommodation and food. However, I was pleasently surprised with both, as all the accommodation and meals were excellent. From the minute I walked out of Kathmandu airport, to the time I left Nepal, Roaming Horizons handled all the logistics. This is a great comfort in a place that can be as manic as Kathmandu. The RE Himalaya bikes were in excellent condition, and the perfect bike for the challenging roads ahead. Any mechanical issue was well dealt with by the following mechanical team. Vinny and Kylie did a great job looking after us, and provided a great environment, allowing the group to maximise the enjoyment of the trip. The Annapurnas is a beautiful region and the hardest thing about the ride was keeping an eye on the road, surrounded by such beautiful scenery. I would recommend Roaming Horizons to anyone wanting to take on a motorcycle adventure. M Matt Clark 5 months ago I just returned from the Bhutan Paro Festival tour and the whole experience was incredible. All of the Roaming Horizons crew were amazing and gave 100% at all times to make sure that our experience was a truly memorable one. The accomodation on a whole was of a good standard and very comfortable and clean. The people of Bhutan were the friendliest and happiest I’ve come across in a long time, with a basic level of English spoken by most of them, spontaneous conversations were always enjoyable. The best part, the riding and scenery! We rode the Himalayan 411, more than adequate for the winding roads of the area. Straight roads are almost non existent and coupling the never ending corners with having to constantly navigate cows, dogs, goats, trucks and the occasional landslide, makes for one hell of an adventure. Adding to this the breathtaking views and scenery of the Himalayas, it was easily the most amazing adventure I’ve ever undertaken and I couldn’t recommend Roaming Horizons enough for your next adventure. Communication by Guru and the team was clear and concise with all the details well covered. The riders were well supported and guided where needed. The bikes were top of the class, well maintained and utterly comfortable, all the comms by the rental were thoroughly thought through. Jay R Rajesh Ramanathan 7 months ago I recently completed the South Island New Zealand motorcycle tour organised by Roaming Horizons, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Having done the Leh–Ladakh trip in India twice, I can honestly say this NZ South Island ride stands right alongside it. The difference is that this adventure is so close to home, yet it delivers a world-class mix of on-road and off-road riding that rivals some of the most iconic routes in the world. The bikes were top-notch—well maintained, powerful, and perfectly suited for the terrain. That alone sets the tone for a confident and thrilling ride. The route planning was excellent, offering a fantastic balance between sweeping sealed roads and exciting gravel sections, keeping every day engaging and dynamic. The scenery was simply out of this world. Every turn felt like riding through a postcard—snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear lakes, dramatic coastlines, and endless open landscapes. New Zealand never disappoints, and this trip showcased the very best of the South Island. The food was amazing throughout the journey, and all the accommodations were of very good quality. A big thank you to the team for carefully selecting the best hotels and the best towns to stop in each day. After long riding hours, comfort matters—and Roaming Horizons absolutely delivered. My twin and I are already planning to do this again next year, which probably says everything. Riders from Australia or India looking for an epic motorcycle adventure should absolutely experience this trip at least once. It’s close, it’s breathtaking, and it’s brilliantly organised. R Rajath Shanbhag 7 months ago This was my first international riding trip with the group. I have done multiple group rides on weekends but nothing beats this trip. All the arrangements starting from planning the trip, routes, riding gear every information was provided with apt details before and during the ride every single day. I would definitely recommend doing riding trip with the group, you can lay back just enjoy riding and the tour, everything else is taken care off. Truly appreciate it. Until next ride, I reckon this will remain the best. From day one the adrenaline was flowing, and riding through the breathtaking Himalayan passes truly made it an experience of a lifetime. The trip was exceptionally well organised, managed, and executed with professionalism. A big appreciation to the support crew, who were always there whenever needed. Beyond the rides, the evenings at the resorts and campsites, complete with bonfires, brought back the joy of carefree uni days and created lasting bonds with new friends. I had an incredible experience from start to finish, The routes were planned well and each day our tour group went through stunning scenery, with a pace that felt just right. Nothing was rushed, and each section of the journey had its own highlights. The accommodation were spot on. Every place we stayed was comfortable, clean, and well chosen for the style of the trip. After long days on the road, it was great to unwind somewhere that felt welcoming. The bikes were in excellent condition and clearly well maintained, which made a huge difference to the overall experience. Steve (Kiwi Motorcycle Rentals) was extremely helpful. He answered all the questions I had about the bike setup and also accommodated any last‑minute needs, whether it was tank bags, top box panniers, or other accessories. He made sure everyone was properly set up before we hit the road. Overall, the organisation, attention to detail, and support throughout the tour made this an unforgettable adventure. The most awe-inspiring location. Nothing else in the world compares to the Himalayas. Nothing. Fantastically organised. The accommodation was brilliant. The trip was an unforgettable experience, through an extremely remote region very few westerners ever get to see. The group was excellent and our guides we very helpful. Some of the accommodation was questionable but I think to be expected so remote. We are planning our next one soon! We had the most amazing experience imaginable. From the very first email contact to the last farewell in Leh, the service from the staff of Roaming Horizons was amazing. We rode the Himalayan 450’s and they really suited the riding conditions. From the high mountain passes, to the twisties to hair-pin corners and river crossings – this tour has it all. The riding itself is not hard but keeping your eyes on the road is, as the scenery is mind-blowing. The high snow-covered mountains that surrounded us provided the most epic views and photo opportunities. The villages we visited were so welcoming and lovely with Darchicks in the Aryan Valley being our favourite. Going to places like this with Roaming Horizons allows for opportunities that travelling solo does not. We had a personalised walk of the village and met many locals, and a cultural show put on by the villagers. We weren’t expecting much from the accommodation seeing as we were so remote however, we were so surprised by some of the places we stayed with the most spectacular views. Roaming Horizons had amazing staff on tour with us who took care of every need. We had a support vehicle that carried our luggage and also carried a mechanic and paramedic should they be needed. Guru, Kylie and Big D provided great briefings every day and were on hand if there were any questions or issues. I would highly recommend Roaming Horizons as a tour company as they are highly professional and will make your tour the best it can possibly be. We will certainly be doing another tour with them. L Lachlan Walker a year ago Just got home from the Cliffhanger tour! What an amazing experience. The scenery was stunning and the riding was unreal. The bikes were very comfortable and a lot of fun. The accommodation was reasonable for the remote nature of the tour. Be prepared for cold showers in some stays and prepare for some spice. Beef jerky essential for a little extra protein. Overall loved the trip and all the curveballs that are thrown add to the adventure! Will be back for another trip in the future! C Carl Seyfort a year ago I've just returned from a Himalayan motorbike tour with Roaming Horizons and can confidently recommend these guys, Guru and his staff were well organised and super friendly, nothing was too much trouble which made for a very enjoyable and stress free tour. All the bikes were well maintained by the tour mechanic and the tour medic looked after riders, couldn't ask for more. Hopefully l will get the opportunity to do another tour with them soon. D Darryl Coulthard a year ago An amazing, if at times challenging experience which provided an enormous sense of achievement. I think there are 3 things to comment on. Firstly, the organisation, support and advice from Roaming Horizons was terrific. Briefings and instructions were clear and confidence boosting, the accommodation and food great and the bikes and mechanical support were excellent. Secondly, the experience on the bikes and the scenery are unforgettable and I found it difficult to describe to others how great it was. Thirdly, the companionship. I don't think I 'struck it lucky' to be with such a fine bunch of blokes. Everyone was supportive and great company. The vastness and remoteness of the Himalayan mountains was unique , stunning and humbling. Steve and his team did a great job with the choice of routes and their constant back up; very professional. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a sense of adventure. The whole trip was extremely well organised. The bikes where great (Himalaya 450). The hotels were great! The guys in the group where great! The scenery was amazing. Our Tibetan tour guide on the Tibet section of the tour was a lovely, chilled out guy who had a very deep and knowledgeable understanding of Tibetan Buddhist culture. I thought the trip was extremely good value for money for what you got. I would highly recommend this tour and this tour company. Have fun!! Cheers. I’m not one to do organised tours but this was great. You’re not herded around. Permits, police and military check points accom, food, fuel everything done for you. So much fun. The bikes and support crew were excellent, food and accomodation was good but you have to remember where you are - this is remote area travel not a European capital city break. Travelling some of the highest motorable passes in the world was an awesome experience that not many people will ever get the chance to do, and I thoroughly recommend doing one of the tours with the Roaming Horizons team. Really well organised, a great adventure and the Himalayan 450’s performed admirably. Can’t fault the level of detail these guys go to, to cater for everyone’s wellbeing and safety. This was put to the test on day three and I was impressed with how an unfortunate accident was handled. Have no fear these guys will care of you if you take a tumble. Local fellows Deepak and Vinnie and support team were fantastic and Catman and Guru crossed all the “T’s” and dotted the “I’s”. All hotels were clean and fit for purpose. Excellent service, great accommodation, not typical but rustic luxury you would only find in this amazing landscape. We rode Royal Enfield 450’s and these were the perfect bike for this road adventure. You may have been to India, ridden the Himalayas, but have you discovered Rajasthan and the palaces, forts, temples of the era of the Silk Road? I’ve had it on my bucket list for a while now and now it’s done. The landscape and scenery is hard to accurately describe, its picture postcards at every corner. It’s the scale that makes it all the more impressive. Largely untouched, we got to some amazing places. High fiving the little kids that came out onto the road to greet us to negotiating the Indian traffic it was all part of the adventure. Close to 18,000ft for days at a time I got to understand what it felt like to be out of breath. Coming close to the borders of China and Pakistan we visited the remote mountain passes and holy areas that the Himalayas had to offer. The new friendships forged and old ones strengthened, I couldn’t have wished for a better bunch of guys to share the experience with. It's definitely out of the ordinary, and the scenery is absolutely surreal. The tour was well organised, with support vehicles, mechanic, spare riders, road leads, mid leads and end sweeps. The timing was perfect. We never encountered any rain during the 12-day trip. The team leader had a lot of experience and knowledge of the place, and all the Travel Permits were well taken care off. The trip was very well planned and potential support/ service were in place, just in case of any emergency. Fortunately, we didn't have any untoward incident in the trip. The Hotels and the tented/camp accommodation were excellent. I would definitely do another trip with Roaming Horizons in future and recommend the services to others. R Rouli R 3 years ago Ladakh trip When I joined Roaming Horizons tour to Ladakh India, I had no expectations of what I will experience but I knew it will be an adventure to ride in the Himalayan mountains. I thought I will have to organise the ride, bikes, etc. Roaming Horizons took care of everything Bikes, food, accommodation, including our health taking care of the oxygen levels, blood pressure, and the fantastic scenery unmatched by any other place like The Andes in South America. The group that came along in this trip were very happy, friendly and ready to help you in anyway possible. My thanks to Prem and his team for all the care they gave us and we always felt safe under their care. The crew has gone above and beyond their duties. They even cleaned our helmets at rest points. I was just amazed by the beauty of the mountains and the scenic views. The arrangements were perfectly done. There was no issues throught the trip. It was for almost 12 days and had no issues till the last day. Accomodations was perfect in every location and the itinerary was very well designed. We are a group of 14 riders and another 14 were traveling in a tempo and making arrangements to cater to everyone in those challenging situations is not easy one . But the team has done very good job in making it an excellent trip for everyone Thanks guru and team for making this happen for me . It's my long time dream and you guys made it reality. The organizing members had done their homework well and all the 27 members of the team enjoyed the trip thoroughly. It is not easy to manage a successfully concluded tour for such a big group of people. The organizers deserve a pat the back for excellent execution. The hotels/campsites were very nice, the food (dinner and breakfast) was steaming hot and excellent in taste. The visit to Dah and Hanu Villages in the Aryan Valley was the icing on the cake. A totally different experience. Out of the world. I look forward to more such adventure trips with Roaming Horizons. A Aseem Kumar 3 years ago Thank you Roming Horizons(Gurudatt)for making my dream come true at age 58.The impeccable efforts your team puts in advance planning of the trip, taking care of the minutest detail And then executing it with love n care is praiseworthy. I gathered a great deal of confidence on meeting the rescue team, emergency back up van with spare bikes and skilled mechanic. On a treacherous terrain one could feel the great contacts of the group leader with local administration and the military. The passage was seamless. The biking lessons by team leader was valueable and his support all the way by riding behind first time bikers and teaching them nuances of mountain biking was great. Srinagar with it's Dal lake boating and mouth watering kashmiri crusine is something that calls for a re visit. Onward to kargil, Leh, kardungla, hunder, Lamaryu and other places were simply superb and can never be described in words. The blissful meeting with Tibetian monks, the sharing of hand baked Roti and the aeromatic kahwa tea makes me nostalgic. I liked the arrangements of accomodation in Hotels, tents and homestays. It made me understand the culture and thoughts of the simple and humble Laddakh people, who were relentless in their efforts to make the Americans, Australians and we Indians feel at home. On way back the Atal Tunnel and then Manali with its natural beauty and hot water springs was so relaxing. Thanks again and looking forward to next trip soon. It was fantastic with a proper back up vehicle, experienced technician, pick up truck to carry luggage and local contacts facilitating the tour. Nice hotels and homestays were provided and were beyond expectation in the remote area. Oxygen support was available in the vehicles to attend to anyone in the high altitude location.
